USA / AustraliaNikola Corporation of Phoenix, Arizona, USA has announced that it is selling its planned hydrogen production facility in Buckeye, Arizona to Australian green energy company Fortescue Future Industries Pty Ltd (FFI), who will take over development of the site and supply hydrogen to Nikola.

The deal follows on from a Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier this year by the two companies, proposing a long-term partnership in green hydrogen production in the USA. FFI is now acquiring the ‘Phoenix Hydrogen Hub’ project for an undisclosed sum and will draw up a supply agreement with Nikola for hydrogen produced at the site when it is up and running. FFI will be committing its own capital and resources towards completion of the project.
