USA – Nikola Corporation, a designer of zero-emission vehicle concepts based in Phoenix, Arizona, has announced that its CEO/President Michael Lohscheller will step down at the end of the month and will be replaced by Board Chairman Stephen Girsky, a former General Motors executive. Girsky will remain on the Board of Directors and Steve Shindler, a Director since October 2020, will serve as Chairman of the Board. Less than a year in the job, Lohscheller has taken this decision based on family health reasons and will be returning to Europe.

Stephen Girsky has more than 30 years of experience working with corporate board executives. He serves as Managing Partner of VectoIQ LLC, an independent advisory firm based in New York. Girsky served as President and CEO of VectoIQ Acquisition Corp, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, on the Board of U.S. Steel and lead Director of Dana Holdings Corp. He also served in a number of capacities at General Motors from 2009 until 2014, including Vice Chairman and President of GM Europe. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
