Paccar, Daimler and Cummins form Joint Venture for US battery cell production

The Joint Venture between Paccar, Daimler and Accelera (Cummins)

USA / China  – Paccar Inc of Bellevue, Washington, Accelera (the zero-emissions business unit of Cummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana), Daimler Truck AG of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Baden-Württemberg and EVE Energy Co Ltd* based in Guangdong, China, have announced they plan to form a joint venture (JV) to advance and localise U.S. battery cell production technology. Daimler, Cummins and Paccar will each own 30% with the remaining 10% being owned by EVE Energy, which will contribute its expertise in battery cell design and manufacturing.

The JV aims at manufacturing battery cells for EVs at a 21-gigawatt hour (GWh) factory that is anticipated to cost between USD 2-3 billion.
