USAMullen Automotive Inc, an electric vehicle manufacturer based in Brea, California, has purchased battery pack production assets from Romeo Power Inc, the erstwhile battery manufacturer and subsidiary of Nikola Corporation based in Cypress, California.

Mullen said it bought equipment, inventory, and intellectual property for high volume battery pack and module production for approximately USD3.5m. The assets include production lines for battery pack assembly, battery testing and validation equipment, computer numerical control equipment, and module enclosure production. These are likely to have come from Romeo Power’s R&D facility in California, which was kept open when Nikola shut down the company’s main facility in Cypress.
