DAF UK looking to expand its reach in the electric truck market

UK DAF Trucks UK Ltd of Thame, UK, a subsidiary of Dutch truck manufacturer, DAF Trucks NV based in Eindhoven, Netherlands displayed its LF Electric truck on its stand at the 2023 Cenex event (September 6th and 7th) at the Millbrook proving ground in Northamptonshire, UK. This was the exact vehicle (DAF 19-tonne LF Electric) that recently completed a 5-day 2,000km journey (EV Rally) from Cardiff to Dublin, designed to demonstrate the vehicle’s capabilities. The new XB & XB Electric are set to replace the LF and LF Electric, with the XB Electric expected to go into series production in week 45, 2023, in Leyland.

Manufactured at Leyland Trucks Ltd in Lancashire, the DAF LF Electric is equipped with a PACCAR box-body, 282kWh LFP batteries that provide a 280km range on a single charge and an electric motor that develops 250kW nominal power and nominal torque of 1,200Nm. The truck can be rapidly charged at 150 kW for a quick turn-around.
