Commercial vehicle sales fall 35.3% in Colombia

Colombia - According to data from Bogotá-based Andemos (National Association for Sustainable Mobility) sales in year to September 30, 2023, fell by 35.3% to 19,444 heavy commercial vehicles compared with 30,060 units sold in the same period of 2022.

There were 13,562 trucks with a load capacity of up to 10.5 tons (light- and medium-duty trucks) registered in the first nine months of the year, a decrease of 36.7% compared with sales of 21,439 units invoiced from January to September 2022, and 4,094 medium to heavy trucks (rigid trucks and tractors) registered this year to date, which was 36.2% fewer than the 6,415 vehicles registered in the same period of 2,022. The minibus, bus and coach segment also suffered a decrease in registrations of 18.9% with 1,788 vehicles newly licensed, compared with the 2,206 units sold in the first nine months of 2022.
