Aurora opens first commercial route for driverless trucks

Aurora terminal in Palmer, South Dallas

USA – Earlier this month, start-up software company, Aurora Innovations Inc of Mountain View, California, United States, opened its first lane for driverless trucks connecting Houston and Dallas, Texas. This is supported by its commercial vehicle trucking terminal launched in Palmer (South Texas) earlier this year. This terminal operates 24/7, supporting 75 commercial loads for pilot customers, which include FedEx and Uber Freight.

This is a part of the company’s plan as it prepares for the commercial launch of Aurora Horizon, its autonomous trucking service which is set to go live next year using its autonomous driving (Aurora Driver) software.
