Irizar displays second generation ie truck at Solutrans

France / Spain – The Irizar Group of Ormaiztegi, Spain, displayed its second-generation all-electric ie truck on its stand at Solutrans 2023, hosted in Lyon last month. The first deliveries of the second-generation vehicle are set for May 2024 and will be produced at the new truck production plant in Lazkao, Spain.
According to Irizar, the company has made improvements to its batteries in terms of its energy density (third generation). The truck is thus fitted with a 512-kWh battery pack that provides a 400km range on a single charge. Furthermore, this version is around 1,400 kg lighter in the 4x2 version and 2,000kg lighter in the 6x2 version than the previous generation. The company has so far sold between 25-30 first generation ie trucks.
