Symbio inaugurates fuel cell gigafactory in France

FranceSymbio of Fontaine (Isère), France has inaugurated a new fuel cell gigafactory in Saint-Fons which it claims is Europe’s largest integrated site for hydrogen fuel cell production, with a capacity of 50,000 units per year planned for 2026. 

The Saint-Fons gigafactory was opened in September and produced its first fuel cell stack (called ‘StackPacks’) in October. It is a 26,000-square-metre facility capable of producing up to 16,000 units per year; following a planned expansion to 40,000 square metres, it will be capable of producing 50,000 units.
