MAN and ABB to partner in development of megawatt charging for trucks

Germany / SwitzerlandMAN Truck & Bus SE, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, has signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with the e-mobility division of ABB Ltd of Zürich, Switzerland for research and development into megawatt charging. 

The two companies will work together over a three-year period to test and develop a megawatt charging system (MCS) for trucks. A key focus of the partnership is ensuring smooth communication between the vehicle and the grid via the charging system. The MCS will be tested against the ISO 15118-20 standard for vehicle to grid communication.
