Ballard signs significant hydrogen fuel cell engine supply deal with the NFI Group

Canada / USA – Ballard Power Systems Inc, a manufacturer of fuel cell systems based in Burnaby, British Columbia, has signed an agreement with bus and coach corporation NFI Group Inc (brands include New Flyer, Alexander Dennis, and MCI) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to supply 100 hydrogen fuel cell engines (FCmove-HD) to power New Flyer’s Xcelsior Charge FC buses in North America. Deliveries will occur throughout 2024. The engines will be produced in Ballard’s facility in Bend, Oregon in the U.S.

Earlier this year, Ballard signed another lucrative contract with Polish bus manufacturer, Solaris to supply 170 hydrogen fuel cell engines to power Solaris buses in Europe.
