Ballard announces major hydrogen fuel cell engine order from Solaris

Canada / Poland – Ballard Power Systems Inc, a manufacturer of fuel cell systems based in Burnaby, British Columbia, has signed an agreement with Polish bus manufacturer Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o. of Bolechowo, to supply 170 hydrogen fuel cell engines to power Solaris buses in Europe. Delivery will occur throughout 2024.

Earlier this year, Solaris announced an order for 52 hydrogen buses in Germany and 130 in Italy. The number of engines ordered by Solaris year-to-date now exceeds 350, representing substantial growth.
