Paccar installs the first power supply system

PACCAR Parts power supply system at DAF dealer

Netherlands / USA – Paccar Parts Europe, of Paccar Inc based in Bellevue, Washington, owner of several commercial vehicle brands including DAF Trucks NV of Eindhoven, Netherlands, has installed its first on-site power supply system consisting of 750 solar panels, at the BEST DAF Trucks centre in Barendrecht, Netherlands.

In combination with an energy storage system, the solar panels power the three superchargers, able to fast charge electric trucks (maximum output of 360 kW) leaving the workshop. The microgrid technology ensures a constant energy supply, balancing the electricity grid with the truck centre’s needs, which is especially important during rapid recharging. The system also allows the truck centre to store electricity and put it back on the grid. when electricity demand is high. This is another potential revenue stream for the truck service centre.
