EasyMile and Rocsys to collaborate on self-driving, self-charging terminal tractors

Demonstration of autonomous terminal tractor charging itself with Rocsys hands-free system

France / NetherlandsEasyMile SAS of Toulouse, France recently demonstrated a terminal tractor fitted with its self-driving technology which could dock at a charging station without human intervention, as part of a strategic partnership with autonomous charging specialist Rocsys BV of Rijswijk, Netherlands.

Using EasyMile’s autonomous driving technology and Rocsys’ ‘ROC-1’ hands-free charger, the two companies plan to completely automate the process of recharging a self-driving electric vehicle. Focusing on yard operations, the partners will deploy autonomous terminal tractors which are capable of carrying out tasks and docking at the charging station when their batteries run down, all without human intervention.
