USA / Canada / France – Earlier this year we brought you news that French battery manufacturer, Forsee Power SAS of Paris, was targeting the North American electric bus market by opening its new Gigafactory in Columbus, Ohio. The company has now added Canadian bus manufacturer, Letenda Inc., based in Longueuil, Quebec, to its client list after announcing that it was supplying BAE Systems with its Forsee Zen Plus battery system to equip BAE’s Gen3 powertrain on a class 7 demonstration truck, which was on display at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo 2024 in Las Vegas earlier this year. The batteries are being produced in Columbus, Ohio, making them “Buy America” compliant.
Forsee announced that its Zen Plus battery systems will be integrated into Letenda’s 9-metre Electrip zero-emission buses in Q4 2024. Four Zen Plus 82 kWh batteries (NMC) will provide a usable energy capacity of 308 kWh that allows up to 300 km of range on a single charge. According to Forsee, the use of NMC lithium-ion cells allows the battery pack to offer up to 5,000 charging cycles, increasing its TCO.
