CaetanoBus features at the Paris Olympics

H2 City Gold Olympic bus

France / Portugal – Bus and coach manufacturer, CaetanoBus SA of Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, announced that 12 of its H2.City Gold electric hydrogen-powered buses were in operation during this past Olympic Games in Paris. The OEM said that its buses were chosen in order to promote hydrogen mobility in Europe. Caetano has supplied over 200 H2 City buses throughout Europe, with 60 more headed to Strasbourg in Northeastern France.

The buses are equipped with a new generation Toyota (Toyota Motor Corporation) fuel cell stack with a nominal power of 70 kW (as opposed to 60 kW in the previous generation), making CaetanoBus the first European company to use Toyota’s fuel cell technology. The fuel cells are assembled at Toyota Motor Europe’s (TME) Research and Development facility, in Zaventem, Brussels.
