Toyota, Hyundai to discuss hydrogen collaboration

South Korea / Japan - Akio Toyoda, chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation and Chung Euisun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group (HMG), the world’s first and third largest vehicle manufacturers*, have agreed to hold a meeting in the South Korean capital city of Seoul in October to discuss opportunities for business collaboration.

Local press reports suggested the meeting, at the invitation of Chung Euisun, is to focus on several key potential growth areas - including the development and production of hydrogen-powered vehicles and the establishment of a hydrogen eco-systems in key markets. The two companies are leading players in the global hydrogen vehicle segment.
