Mahle to supply engine components for MAN hydrogen truck

The hTGX by MAN

GermanyMahle GmbH of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg has announced it is to supply engine components for MAN’s limited run of two hundred hydrogen combustion trucks to be produced for selected markets next year.

Mahle is contracted to supply a “hydrogen power cell unit” and other components to MAN for its ‘hTGX’ truck, which was announced earlier this year. Parts which Mahle will supply include pistons, piston rings, piston pins, and cylinder liners, as well as components for the valve train. The supplier said it has designed the parts to reduce oil consumption and “blow-by”, or hydrogen gas leakage into the crankcase, to a minimum.
