Germany / USA – After breaking ground last year, Paccar Inc of Bellevue, Washington owner of several commercial vehicle brands including DAF Truck NV of Eindhoven, Netherlands, has opened its new (EUR 85 million) 240,000 square foot (22,000 square meters) distribution centre in the city of Massbach, Bayern, Germany to support parts supply to DAF customers in Germany, Switzerland and France.

The facility has the capacity to store over 80,000 different parts. The facility utilises the latest in automated packaging systems, scanning equipment and ordering technology to aid in efficiency. It also makes use of 4,000 solar panels, eco-friendly heat pumps and electric charging facilities, which will service the electric vehicles used on-site.
