South Korea - Truck builder, Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company Ltd, headquartered in Gunsan, South Korea, was rebranded as Tata Daewoo Mobility Company Ltd in November 2024 - as the company began celebrating the approach of its 30th anniversary next year. The company was founded in 1995 as Daewoo Commercial vehicle Company Ltd and was acquired by India’s Tata Motors Ltd in 2004.
Tata Daewoo Mobility confirmed it is looking to “re-image” itself from a traditional manufacturer of commercial vehicles to become a leader in future mobility solutions. The company confirmed the next phase of its growth will be driven by the launch of next-generation products, starting with its first battery-powered truck - the medium-duty “Gixen” - in the first half of 2025.
