Peru CV market in 2024 hits record high in a decade

Peru - Peruvian CV market closed 2024 with record sales of the last decade at 18,247 trucks and buses, 5.3% up in comparison with the 17,327 vehicles sold in the previous year, according to data from Automotive Association of Peru (AAP). The trucks and tractor-truck segment grew 1.4% to 15,308 units compared with 15,095 in 2023, whereas the minibus, bus and coach segment increased by almost a third (+31.7%) with 2,939 units registered, compared with 2,232 in 2023.
Truck sales at 15,308 units in 2024 was the second highest in the ten last years, just 2.4% below 15,680 units registered in 2021. Between 2015 and 2020, the average number of vehicles sold was just over 12,000 a year, while between the 2021 and 2023 period, numbers jumped to more than 15,000 units per year.
