Italy / GermanyDaimler Buses GmbH (owned by Daimler Truck AG of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany), has commenced deliveries of its new eCitaro K buses. The first four units were handed over to Asti Servizi Pubblici S.p.A. (ASP S.p.A.) in Asti, Italy. These compact, 10.63-metre electric buses are particularly suited for narrow, winding routes in the city centre of Asti. In addition to the eCitaro K buses, ASP S.p.A. received twelve 12-metre eCitaro buses, with another unit ordered in autumn 2024, bringing their total fleet of new battery-electric buses to 17.

First unveiled at the 2024 IAA, the new version of its 10.6-metre Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K has a passenger capacity of 84. Available in two or three-door configurations, the bus retains the features of the standard eCitaro (but is 1.5 metres shorter), including the electric drivetrain and customisable battery configurations, which provide flexibility for various city transit needs.
