Germany / USATraton SE, the parent company of several commercial vehicle brands based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, has announced a strategic partnership with Applied Intuition Inc of Mountain View, California, USA to develop software-defined vehicles that will be continuously improved through over-the-air updates.

The two companies will partner to develop a software platform shared across Traton’s brands, including MAN, Scania, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus. The aim is to build digital tools that will enable faster development and validation of vehicle software, applicable across Traton’s brands. Moreover, Applied Intuition will create a cloud-based platform for virtual product testing, which Traton claims will allow it to test “faster and earlier in the development process”.
