USA – In May, Phillips Industries Inc of Santa Fe Springs, California launched aftermarket kits for retrofitting its ‘Rear-Vu’ range of cameras for Class 8 trucks and trailers.

Phillips is offering three ways of installing its rearview cameras on trucks and trailers. The first is a mounting bracket and directional antenna for installing on the side of a box truck or a box van trailer. The second is a mounting bracket for the back of the truck cab in a tractor-trailer configuration, designed specifically for coupling manoeuvres. Finally, an installation kit with mounting bracket, nose antenna, and extended cable allows for the camera to be placed in the trailer roof seam. The first two aftermarket options can be installed in 15-20 minutes, whereas the last takes 30-50 minutes to fit.
