Germany – Having recently launched the latest version of its Mercedes-Benz eCitaro at UITP in Hamburg (June 15–18, 2025), Daimler Buses GmbH (owned by Daimler Truck AG of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany) announced that it has reached a major production milestone with the delivery of its 2,500th Mercedes-Benz eCitaro electric bus to a European operator. This landmark was achieved through a series of recent orders fulfilled across the continent, reflecting a growing demand for zero-emission city transit solutions. Since its market launch in 2018, the eCitaro has steadily expanded its footprint in the European public transport sector, known for its advanced safety features, silent operation, and climate-neutral performance.

Till Oberwörder, CEO of Daimler Buses, said: “With 2,500 eCitaros now in service, we are proud to support public transport operators across Europe in their transition to electric mobility. Our buses help cities meet climate goals while offering passengers a clean and quiet ride.”
