Renault Group names François Provost as new CEO

FranceRenault Group has announced the appointment of François Provost, former Chief Procurement, Partnerships, and Public Affairs Officer, as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director, effective immediately. Provost takes over from former CEO Luca de Meo, who departed to lead luxury conglomerate Kering. Provost is a seasoned Renault insider with 23 years of experience and has overseen critical initiatives, including the “Renaulution transformation plan”, global partnerships (notably with Geely and Nissan), and procurement strategy. His international experience and strategic vision were cited as key factors behind his appointment.

As CEO, Provost will take the helm during a crucial period marked by intensifying competition (namely from Asia), weaker European demand, global trade uncertainty (Trump tariffs) and a recent profit warning. His mandate includes steering Renault’s global transformation while reinforcing its strategic agility and standards.
