ZF promotes Mathias Miedreich following departures of CEO and head of CVS

GermanyZF Friedrichshafen AG, a component and systems supplier based in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, has appointed Mathias Miedreich as chief executive officer, following the departures of incumbent CEO Dr Holger Klein and Prof Dr Peter Laier, the head of the Commercial Vehicle Solutions division.

Miedreich was appointed to the ZF board of management in January 2025, taking responsibility for the Electrified Powertrain Technology division. He joined the group from Umicore, a metals and mining company, where he served as chief executive officer for over two years. Over his career, he has worked for Siemens, Continental, and Forvia (formerly ‘Faurecia’) in a range of product strategy roles.
