Mercedes-Benz eIntouro completes five-week summer trials in Spain

eIntouro summer testing

Spain / Germany Daimler Buses GmbH (owned by Daimler Truck AG of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany) has completed a five-week summer testing programme of its upcoming Mercedes-Benz eIntouro, ahead of its series production launch in 2026. Trials took place in Andalusia, southern Spain, during the summer of 2025, where temperatures reached up to 45°C.

The testing focused on validating the intercity bus’s performance under extreme conditions, including battery thermal management, drivetrain efficiency, rapid charging, and passenger comfort systems such as HVAC. Mountain routes in the Sierra Nevada, at altitudes of up to 2,500 metres, were used to evaluate full-load climbing capability and the effectiveness of energy recuperation on long descents. Daimler reports “the trials delivered valuable real-world data on energy consumption, cooling efficiency, and auxiliary power draw, confirming the robustness of the eIntouro’s design”.
