- Independent Front Suspension
- Description
-
Independent suspension is at the core of BRIST’s expertise. With over 20 years of proven experience and a portfolio of global patents, BRIST offers a comprehensive range of independent suspensions for both drive and non-drive applications.
As one of the few companies globally offering a complete range of Independent Front Suspensions (IFS) with designs specifically optimized for rim sizes 16.0″, 17.5″, 19.5″, and 22.5″, BRIST is known for establishing strong industry standards.
BRIST’s IFS solutions are highly modular, providing customizable options for braking (air, hydraulic, or electric), steering (electronic or mechanical), and suspension (air, coil, or hydropneumatic).
Independent front suspension is a leading-edge technology, increasingly favored by buses and, more recently, electric trucks. Compared to traditional rigid front suspension systems, IFS provides improved roll stability, enhanced ride comfort and handling, reduced weight, and a wider aisle corridor, making it the optimal choice for modern vehicle designs.
- Product
- Rigid Front Suspension
- Description
-
BRIST offers two main sub-categories of rigid front suspension (RFS): "conventional" and "deep drop" types.
The key distinction between these two is that the deep drop version provides a flat floor passage in the front, making it suitable for low-floor applications, whereas the conventional type is not designed for such use.
With significantly low warranty claims over the past 15 years, BRIST’s rigid front suspension has demonstrated proven success in the field, delivering reliable performance in vehicles for reputable customers.
- Product
- Rigid T-Drive Axle
- Description
-
BRIST Rigid T-Drive Axles are compatible with buses featuring both rear and front engine configurations. They are available as fully dressed units, including in-house designed suspension arms, with an optional half leaf-spring integrated with a single air-spring suspension.
A key differentiator of BRIST Rigid Drive Axles (RDA) is the EV-dedicated differential carrier, specifically engineered to meet the unique requirements of electric bus mission. This design enhances regeneration torque, optimizes gear mesh, and increases drive torque, delivering superior performance.

- eCOR225 LF: Low Floor e-Axle
- Description
-
The BRIST Corner Drive e-Axle is a game-changer for the city-bus segment.
Its patented design features a high-speed 750 VDC hairpin winding motor, with an optimized layout that accommodates more powerful motors. The motors are housed in a ventilated area, separate from the gears, ensuring optimal cooling.
The e-Axle’s compact and modular design maximizes space efficiency, allowing for better utilization of battery modules.
Additionally, it offers up to 300 kg in system weight savings, resulting in 2-8% energy savings for the vehicle. The reduction in unsprung mass is significant, with up to 700 kg less weight, thereby enhancing vehicle dynamics.
An optional all-wheel steering system is available for trackless trams and bidirectional autonomous shuttles, further increasing the system’s versatility.
