Australia – The Australian Government has announced that the city of Sydney will be the recipient of the nation’s largest fleet of electric buses through a pilot programme that will see 40 electric vehicles deployed across the city. The project will also see Sydney’s Leichhardt bus depot retrofitted to accommodate new charging infrastructure.

The government is supporting the program with a USD22 million investment, with USD18.4 million from the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) and USD3.7 million from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).
