GermanyTraton SE or the Traton Group, a commercial vehicle manufacturer and parent company1 of MAN Truck & Bus, Scania, Navistar International and Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, has announced its results for the first nine months of 2021, consolidating Navistar’s figures with the rest for the first time since it was acquired in July 2021.

The results show that Traton sold 53% more trucks and buses in the first nine months of 2021 despite ongoing shortages in the supply of semiconductors and other components. A growth of 38% in sales revenue was achieved, amounting to EUR21.7bn (compared to EUR15.7bn in the same period of the previous year). Adjusted operating result amounted to EUR1,322m, in stark contrast with a EUR9m loss in the previous year. It should be noted, of course, that the inclusion of Navistar in the 2021 figures makes year-on-year comparisons somewhat unreliable.
