NetherlandsVolvo Group, Daimler Truck, and Traton Group have announced that their heavy vehicle charging joint venture will operate under the name Milence BV. Led by Anja van Niersen, who was appointed CEO in July, Milence is headquartered in Amsterdam and has offices in Arnhem, Netherlands.

The joint venture plans to install and operate at least 1,700 charging points, supplied with renewable energy, which will serve heavy-duty, long-distance trucks. In its most recent release, Milence stated that it also looks to support electric coaches. The first countries to be joined to the charging network will be the Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Norway, and Sweden. The rollout of charging points will be funded by an initial pot of EUR500m.
