China’s Eve Energy confirms stake in US truck battery JV

Daimler’s Freightliner trucks sold mainly in North America

USA / China - Chinese electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturer, Eve Energy Company Ltd, based in Huizhou, has agreed to invest USD150m to take a 10% stake in the recently announced commercial vehicle battery joint venture in the USA involving Daimler Truck, Paccar and Cummins’ zero-emissions unit, Accelera.

The partners plan to initially invest a combined USD2.64bn to build a facility with a production capacity of 21 gigawatt hours (GWh) of batteries per year for commercial and industrial vehicle applications.
