Chile – According to ANAC (National Automotive Association of Chile), truck sales in Chile in 2023 fell by 21.1% to 12,650 compared with 16,038  trucks registered in 2022; this is the second year in a row that the market has fallen when in 2021, 16,898 trucks were registered – similar to the pre-pandemic market number in 2019.

As expected, the four main truck brands of Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, VWCO and Scania dominate – especially in heavy truck – with Isuzu under the brand name of Chevrolet is the dominant player in the medium-duty segment. Mercedes-Benz is the market leader and except for MAN, is the only top ten OEM to enjoy growth in sales during 2023.
