3,661 CV units were registered in January to March 2025 as compared with 3,306 vehicles in the same period in 2024.

Trucks sales in 2024 fell by 3.5%, whereas bus and coach sales declined steeply by 32.8%.

Chile closed the third quarter with a decrease in sales of heavy commercial vehicles by almost 20% to 1,332 registrations (trucks and buses) compared with 1,664 units in the previous period, according to ANAC.

The first half of the year saw a 16.4% decrease in commercial vehicle sales, with 6,559 units sold compared with 7,837 units in the same period last year.

The Chilean market faced another month of declining sales in May compared with 2023, as reported by the National Automotive Association of Chile (ANAC).

The Chilean commercial vehicle (truck and bus registrations combined) market continued to fall in the first quarter of this year, with 3,306 units sold, down 20.4% on the 4,156 units sold in the same period of 2023.

According to latest registration figures by weight segment collated and supplied ANAC (Associação Nacional Automotriz de Chile), the Chilean truck market was in decline across all segments in 2023.

Truck sales in Chile in 2023 fell by 21.1% to 12,650 compared with 16,038  trucks registered in 2022.

The Chilean bus and coach market segment slipped 1.6% in 2023 by 73 units more than 3,000, down from 3,133 in 2022.

The economic contraction in Chile went beyond the negative forecasts predicted by the Monthly Economic Activity Indicator in a more pronounced way than estimated and majorly compromised sales of commercial vehicles.

According to Santiago-based ANAC (Asociación Nacional Automotriz de Chile) trucks registrations between January and June this year decreased by 19.7% compared with the same period in 2022, where as the bus and coach volumes rose by 60%.

According to ANAC (Associação Nacional Automotriz de Chile), sales of over 19,000 CVs in 2022 is the best result in recent years, being 44.44% higher than 13,272 units sold in 2020,and 17.24% above 16,342 vehicles sold in 2019, before the covid-19 pandemic.
