Traton brands announce autonomous truck partnerships with Plus

Scania autonomous truck

USA / Germany / Sweden – The Traton Group’s heavy truck brands – MAN, Navistar, and Scania – have announced that they will be collaborating with Silicon Valley tech firm Plus to test and commercialise self-driving trucks for hub-to-hub operations in the U.S. and Europe.

Plus says that on-road testing of Traton trucks installed with its ‘SuperDrive’ Level 4 autonomous driving technology has already begun in two locations. One is the freight corridor between San Antonio and Dallas in Texas, and the other is a route between Scania’s home city of Södertälje and the city of Nyköping in Sweden. Further trials will be carried out with customers later this year on other routes in Texas and in other European countries.
