MAN and ABB demonstrate prototype megawatt charger on electric truck

Germany – In the German city of Munich, MAN Truck & Bus recently demonstrated megawatt charging on its upcoming heavy-duty battery electric truck for the first time, only a few months after announcing its partnership with ABB Ltd of Zürich, Switzerland.

Using a prototype charger developed together with the e-mobility division of ABB, MAN charged up its ‘eTruck’ with more than 700 kW of power and an electric current of 1,000 amps. The demonstration was attended by the Bavarian Minister President, Dr Markus Söder.
