Chile sees CV market decline 16.4% in the first half of this year

Chile - The Chilean commercial vehicle market, mirroring economic difficulties faced by many South American countries, recorded a significant drop in sales. According to data from ANAC (National Automotive Association of Chile) in Santiago, the first half of the year saw a 16.4% decrease in commercial vehicle sales, with 6,559 units sold compared with 7,837 units in the same period last year.

The bus segment experienced the steepest decline, with sales plummeting by 36.3% to 973 units, down from 1,529 in the first half of 2023. The truck market also fell, registering a 12.1% decrease, with 5,586 units sold compared to 6,308 units in the same period last year.
