BYD trucks to integrate Geotab fleet management software in Europe

Netherlands / Canada – BYD Europe BV of Schiedam, Netherlands - the European subsidiary of Shenzhen, China-based BYD Auto Co Ltd - has partnered with Geotab Inc of Ontario, Canada, to integrate its fleet management software into BYD’s trucks imported into Europe.
The vehicles are to be equipped with both hardware and software, that collects and transmits vehicle data. The software provides safety analytics, trip data, zone activity, electric vehicle statistics, exception events, GPS tracking, and more. Operators have the option to purchase Geotab's fleet telematics services for an additional monthly fee. According to BYD, fleets will further benefit in terms of compliance, safety and ultimately productivity, helping owners reduce costs and maximise vehicle uptime. Geotab signed a similar agreement earlier this year with Rivian.
