The first second-gen Irizar ie trucks are now on the road in Madrid

Spain – The Irizar Group of Ormaiztegi, Spain, announced that the first two second-generation all-electric ie trucks are now on the roads in Madrid operating with private waste collection company, FCC Medio Ambiente. The vehicle was first debuted on the Irizar stand at Solutrans 2023, hosted in Lyon. These trucks were produced at the new truck production plant in Lazkao, Spain.
According to Irizar, the company has made improvements to its batteries in terms of its energy density (third generation). The truck is thus fitted with a 360-kWh battery pack that provides a 300km range on a single charge. Furthermore, this version is around 1,400 kg lighter in the 4x2 version and 2,000kg lighter in the 6x2 version than the previous generation.
