Slovakia – Slovakia-based battery manufacturer, InoBat Auto*, has appointed Steven Chai as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and member of the board, effective immediately. Chai has over 25 years of experience in the battery sector, having previously been Senior Vice President of Chinese battery manufacturer Gotion High-tech Co Ltd (a minority stakeholder in InoBat). Chai will be at the centre as the company looks to scale up production at its Gigafactory in Voderady, Slovakia, after securing significant funding from the Slovakian Development Bank earlier this year. The company has also confirmed EUR 419 million from the Serbian government for the construction of its second Gigafactory, in Cuprija, Serbia.
