Germany – With the European tour complete, Daimler Truck AG of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Baden-Württemberg has announced that Dutch logistics firm Simon Loos has placed what is regarded as the company’s most significant order yet of 75 Mercedes Benz eActros 600 long-haul battery-electric trucks. Deliveries are scheduled for Q1 2025. Simon Loos announced that they trialled a prototype eActros 600 over 25,000 kilometres servicing Albert Heijn, the Netherlands’ largest supermarket chain.
The company has implemented a full-court press in the marketing of this new product. We have seen multiple customer trials and extreme weather testing. The company has now built a pavilion named the “Actros 600 Experience World” in Wörth, where customers, clients and the general public can learn about the vehicle as well as the company’s history. Daimler is attempting to educate the public on the need for electrification as it rolls out its zero-emission product range.
