Truck demand in Chile continues steady growth into 2025

Chile – The Chilean truck market witnessed a steady rise in demand during the first six months of 2025, increasing by 8.2% to 6,042 trucks, up from 5,586 units in January to June last year, according to figures released by ANAC (Chilean National Automotive Association) based in Santiago.

According to ANAC, the truck market has seen an upward trend since July 2024. In June, 962 trucks were sold, a 6.9% increase compared to the same period last year. It went on to state that the mining sector and the recovery of some indicators—such as business confidence—have driven sales. The segment that grew the most was heavy trucks, with a 12.1% increase to 3,907 units, compared with 3,485 in the first half of 2024. The medium-duty segment also grew by 4.1% to 1,605 vehicles (1,542), whereas the light-duty segment declined by 5.2% decline to 530 units as compared to 559 in the first six months of last year.
