Bus and coach sales in Chile rise by 37.8% in the first half of 2025

Chile - Like several other major South American markets, Chile’s bus and coach sector witnessed a major increase in demand in the first six months of the year, with 1,341 units sold, up from 973 vehicles in the same period last year, according to data collected and shared by ANAC (Chilean National Automotive Association) of Santiago.

The six-month period was notably boosted by sales in June, which grew by 361.5% with 480 registrations, resulting from the addition of 299 buses to Santiago’s RED Movilidad metropolitan transport system. ANAC stated that Urban city bus sales increased by 39.9% in January to June 2025 to 312 units compared with 223 in the same period last year. The intercity bus segment remained stable, with 307 vehicles, compared with 306 in the same period last year, and the minibus segment enjoyed the highest growth, up 96.2% at 204 units (104).
