ADL opens Las Vegas manufacturing plant

ADL Las Vegas facility

USA / UK – After recently announcing the consolidation of its UK manufacturing footprint, Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) of Larbert, UK (a subsidiary of Canada’s NFI Group) has opened a new manufacturing facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada, dedicated to producing its Enviro500 range of double-deck buses for the North American market. The opening marks ADL’s return to large-scale bus production in the United States and follows a reported USD 15.3 million investment in the site and surrounding supply chain.

The company has seen growing demand from North America, as this step builds on an earlier contract manufacturing agreement with Big Rig. The new plant will manufacture both conventional CNG/diesel and fully electric versions of the Enviro500, including the Enviro500EV, with an initial build rate of one bus per week. Production will scale up to 75 vehicles annually by 2026. ADL stated that the Las Vegas facility will serve only the North American market, helping to meet rising demand for its buses.
