Bus and defence vehicle manufacturer, Otokar, based in Sakarya, Turkey, has launched the new 12-metre electric low floor city bus, the e-Kent C. The series production model varies from the prototype electric model first unveiled some two years ago at Stockholm, Sweden.

Istanbul bus operator IETT has ordered 100 21-metre buses based on the Kent C artic range, set to be delivered in 2022.

Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi A.Ş., a producer of commercial and defence vehicles in Sakarya at Busworld Turkey last month announced a strong year for commercial vehicle sales and particularly its bus division.

Otokar attended Busworld Central Asia held in Almaty, Kazakhstan at the end of June to showcase its products in a country and region where it sees considerable potential for export growth.

Bus manufacturer, Otokar, used the UITP Congress in Stockholm last month to launch its first full-sized electric bus.
