The company has signalled its intention to move away from its work on self-driving vehicles towards applications in the digital entertainment industry, after coming under investigation from American authorities for illicit technology transfers to China (settled in 2024).

These appointments come after former CEO, Xiaodi Hou, was fired for allegedly engaging in illicit technology transfers with Chinese-backed start-up Hydron Inc.

Confidential information is alleged to have been shared prior to signing a confidential disclosure agreement.
