FPT Industrial of Turin has been chosen as preferred engine supplier by Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicles Co Ltd of Gunsan-si city, South Korea for the launch of its new CEN light/medium-duty truck.

Three months’ on from the strategic and exclusive heavy-duty truck partnership signed between CNH Industrial NV and Nikola Corporation, the partners, in Turin this month, announced it was now giving maximum priority to the development of its European business.

Nikola is now the new brand name for heavy-duty battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell tractor units from Iveco in Europe.

Nikola Corporation, a technology start-up company focused on the production zero emission transportation solutions, at the European launch of Nikola Tre – a BEV and FCEV tractor unit – together with its industrial partner, CNH Industrial at the industrial village of subsidiary, Iveco SpA, announced its strategy to develop a hydrogen fuelling and BEV charging network in Europe suitable for the operation of battery electric and hydrogen-fuelled long haul tractor units.

Iveco SpA, part of CNH Industrial NV, in conjunction with project partners, Amazon, Microsoft and Shell launched the new S-Way driver-centric heavy-duty truck at a presentation in Madrid last month.
