France - The RATP Group (Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens), a public transport operator in the Île-de-France region which includes the city of Paris, has signed framework agreements with five bus manufacturers following a call for tenders to push the decarbonisation of Paris’s bus fleet. Through these arrangements, RATP will procure 12-metre electric buses costing a maximum of EUR825m over four years.

RATP signed agreements with Bolloré SE of Puteaux, France, the Irizar Group of Ormaiztegi, Spain, Iveco Bus of Lyons, France, MAN Truck & Bus SE of Munich, Bavaria, Germany, and Solaris Bus & Coach of Bolechowo, Poland. Contracts were awarded to Bolloré, Irizar, and Iveco in order to fulfil the 2022 and 2023 deliveries. A subsequent tender for more electric buses will be issued to the five manufacturers for which they will compete to supply RATP up to 2025.
