Italy / South KoreaAfter signing an initial agreement in 2022, Hyundai Motor Corporation of Seoul, South Korea and the Iveco Group NV based in Turin, Italy have agreed to deepen their collaboration to encompass the co-development of electric heavy-duty trucks (both battery-electric and fuel-cell electric) for the European market.

There has been a rich history in recent times of collaboration between the two companies. Last year at Busworld Europe in Brussels, Iveco launched a new hydrogen city bus (Iveco Bus E-Way H2) with Hyundai providing the fuel cell system. The companies also co-developed the eDaily FCEV and later this year at the IAA Transportation event in Hannover, the launch of an IVECO-badged electric light commercial vehicle for the European market. This electric Light Commercial Vehicle (eLCV) is based on Hyundai’s new (eLCV) platform and serves to strengthen the Iveco LCV lineup alongside the Daily series. According to the agreement, Hyundai will manufacture and supply the chassis cab, while Iveco Group will handle local customisation and European distribution through its sales network.
